A 22yo Type 1 diabetic on Ramipril for microalbuminuria but always normotensive & a non smoker also has polycystic ovary syndrome. She wishes to have contraception, preferably oral. Would COC or POP be preferable?
Using TRIP and Medline, we were unable to find evidence that considered contraception choices for a patient with both type 1 diabetes and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). We found no robust evidence on which to base a selection of any specific contraception for this patient, and found information questioning both POP and COC, suggesting specialist advice is needed.

The mean values of the number of seminiferous tubules per histologic section, dimension, weight, and the fraction of biopsies with spermatogenetic cells (53, 0.2 0.3 0.62 cm, 385 mg, and 63%, respectively) were similar to those obtained by open or other surgical biopsy techniques that were used for assisted fertilization in the same type of patients
